Asianet Movies is the first Malayalam channel that is showing movies 24x7. At first there were only Malayalam movies later on in the weekends there were other language movies like from Kollywood, Tollywood as well as Bollywood were shown since the channel owned by Star Group and they own rights of lots of movies. 15 July 2012 was the date which Asianet Movies was launched. The inaugural movie of the channel was Spanish masala super hit movie of Dileep directed by Lal Jose. As the name suggests Asianet Movies is the sub channel of TV giant Asianet.
